Anne Hathaway is a Poor Choice for Catwoman

When I think of Catwoman, this is the first image that comes to mind:

This is Michelle Pfeiffer as Selina Kyle AKA Catwoman. I remember seeing this poser in the theater back before Batman Returns came out, and I was so excited that I even bought a copy of it. It's on my wall to this very day. Michelle Pfeiffer was a perfect casting choice, and they did a phenomenal job on her makeup and costume.

Besides her, the most iconic Catwoman that I can think of is the one played by Julie Newmar in the classic TV series:

Even though the TV series was originally aired well before I was born, I always thought she was incredibly gorgeous and set a strong precedent of what Catwoman should be like.

In the comics, Catwoman has had many looks. My favorite look would have to be the astounding cover work of Adam Hughes. Take a look at this one, taken from Catwoman #48:

Simply breathtaking.

Here's one more cover, taken from #51 that I just have to share because it's so awesome:

After Batman Returns came out in 1992, the world fell in love with Michelle Pfeiffer. For years and years it was rumored that she was going to star in a standalone Catwoman movie, and people couldn't wait for it to come to fruition. Eventually a Catwoman movie got the green light and was released in 2004, but it starred Halle Barry and she played a character named Patience Price, not Selina Kyle. It was a disappointing movie, but since she wasn't the Selina Kyle character, whether or not her portrayal of Catwoman is better or worse than the previous/upcoming portrayals is irrelevant.

Back in January of 2011, it was announced that Catwoman was going to star in the upcoming film the Dark Knight Rises and she would be played by Anne Hathaway. I had no idea who she was, but read that she starred in the movies the Princess Diaries and Pretty in Prada amongst others.

Since I had no idea what she looked like, I did an image search and this was my first result:

Are you serious, bro? This is the chick that's going to play Catwoman? She looks weird, has a poor acting portfolio, and no amount of make-up/cgi can hide the fact that she's a terrible choice to play such an iconic character. Let's do some comparisons:

In conclusion, there's no possible way that Anne Heche can possibly be a good choice for Catwoman.
